Victoria Parents and Educators – There’s a new school opening this fall in the Greater Victoria area. There’s an information session on Sunday, and I wanted you to be first to know in case it’s something you or your friends/colleagues might be interested in.
The vision is to create an education system that honors our children’s innate gifts and who they are. And even better—while this innovative school is new to us and is envisioned primarily by Gordy Bal, it will be guided for 2 years by Phil Moore who has 40 years of experience directing the Uplands Hills School using this model.
If you’d like to hear more, the founders will be available on Sunday to present information and answer questions.

Gordy Bal is the Visionary founder of the Xploration Centre.

A model that embraces entrepreneurial learning and sustainability in a natural environment, based on the principles of child-centred learning, community, consciousness and cosmos.
Dr. Shefali Tsabary, a world-renowned clinical psychologist who received her doctorate from Columbia University, NY. She specializes in the integration of Eastern philosophy and Western psychology, making her an expert in her field and her message has the potential to change people’s lives for generations to come. Her book, THE CONSCIOUS PARENT, has been endorsed by Oprah as one of the most profound books on parenting she has ever read.
Phillip Moore began teaching at Upland Hills Farm School in 1971. He was asked to become the director of the school in February of 1972 and served until June of 2013. During this 42-year stewaredship, Phil built exceptional teams at the staff and board levels to grow a true learning community. This culture developed a synergistic collaboration that transcends most traditional models of educational institutions. Phil has agreed to steward the first two years of Xploration Centre Vancouver Island as the “Synergistic Guide.”
Together, they will be available to answer your questions about alternative schooling, curriculum, syngergistic guidance and the possibilities for creating a world in which everyone can develop their true genius.
